On 31 March 2017, two board members visited Patensie and Humansdorp, Eastern Cape to present XStitch to the community. Our 1st visit was to the Protea Old Age community group in Humansdorp. No employment and poverty is evident in this community, There is not much to do and people are excited to do something with their hands. Later the evening we presented to a group of 60 people in the Lighthouse Centre in Patensie. This is a farming community and seasonal employment exists. There is so much lack and the community is very poor. We were extremely well received and would like to return to teach crocheting skills and thereby empower them to earn an income.
